We're moving!
We will be meeting in a new room next Sunday (April 5). Our study group will be downstairs in Fellowship Hall, at the east end. This is temporary until we do a bit of 'redecorating' in the 'old' chapel on third floor. Email Sonja for further information.

New Study Has Begun
Our group (and we welcome it to be your group) has been viewing a short films each Sunday morning from Rob Bell's 'NOOMA' series. The one-word topics have piqued our interest...they're deceptively 'simple'...such as, 'Rain', 'Tree', 'Flame'. After watching the film, we've had some quite engaging and thoughtful discussions.

New Study for Sunday School Class
A group of adult, Sunday School members from First United Methodist, in El Dorado Kansas, has begun a study of Christianity's Family Tree, by Adam Hamilton. Pastor of the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Kansas, Adam Hamilton has created a video-based small group study that addresses such questions as: Why do Orthodox Christians use icons in worship? What is the “baptism in the Holy Spirit” that Pentecostals speak about? Why do Roman Catholics focus on the Eucharist in worship? What do Lutherans teach us about salvation? What do Presbyterians teach us about God’s power? How can Episcopalians deepen our prayer life? What can Baptists teach us about living for Christ?
Adam Hamilton will begin answering these questions and more in this eight-session, DVD-based study. Participants will learn of the history, theology, and distinctive emphases of eight different Christian denominations and faith traditions. For each tradition, participants will hear from a clergy member of that tradition and look at Scriptures that have shaped that faith. Churches that purchase the study will be given tools and sermon starters to create a congregationwide emphasis, shaping worship around elements of each denomination as it is studied.
This class meets on Sunday mornings at 9:30 in the Overlow Room (directly across from the church office). We welcome you to join us!
